Tropical Green Morning Smoothie


Prep Notes

(Start your day off with a serving of super nutritious food! The balanced nutrition in this smoothie keeps your hunger and cravings under control. You can prepare Ziploc Baggies in your freezer of the pre-measured frozen fruit and kale so this goes together in a snap.)

Yields

1 smoothie or can be split

Ingredients

4 oz unsweetened coconut water

4 oz filtered water

½ of a medium banana, frozen, cut in chunks

½ cup frozen chopped kale or 1 cup of fresh kale, no stems,

1, 4 oz snack pack of unsweetened pineapple tidbits (drain off juice)

½ cup frozen diced mango

1 T each of shelled hemp seeds and ground flax seeds

Directions

Put all ingredients in your blender or Vitamix in order given, and blend until smooth.  Enjoy!

PS This recipe can be split between family members.  I make this smoothie in the AM and give Steve and Juju a 4oz glass, and I drink the remaining 4 oz glass as a pre-exercise energy boost!  Everybody starts their day with fruit, greens, fiber and protein!  And it’s tasty!
